Title: Blackwater Judo Club (Maldon) Charity Competition
Location: Blackwater Leisure Centre, Maldon, Essex
Description: This is the Blackwater Judo Club (Maldon) annual charity competition open to all clubs providing they have valid insurance and licences.

All monies raised at this event will be donated to a worthy charity such as in the past Essex Air Ambulance, Little Havens Childrens Hospice and Farleighs Hospice.

The day is for the students to enjoy and show their skills whether it is groundwork or airwork/groundwork (yet to be decided), any preference then email me on johnpegram2004@googlemail.com

“Enter the Dragon”

A brand new A.E.J.F. Judo/Grappling Club will be opening on St Georges day, Friday 23rd April 2010.

To celebrate, the opening session will be a `St Georges day free taster session` and every Judo Club in the AEJF are welcome to attend, albeit a trifle cramped.

The Club will be based at the Robert Clack School Leisure Centre, Gosfield Road, Dagenham, Essex. RM8 1JU.

Following on from the Initial opening, the Judo Club will be running two beginners classes on a regular Friday evening, from 7.10 to 8.00pm for under 11 years, and 8.00 to 8.50pm for 11 years and above.

AEJF National Grading 11th October ’09

The scheduled All England National Grading was held at Mersea Island Judo Club, West Mersea, Collchester, Essex on Sunday 11th October 2009.

First I would like to thank Kate Bredin and her team for hosting the event and as usual provided us a brilliant day and ensured everyone was well fed and watered.

On behalf of the All England Judo Federation, a big thank you also goes to the table officials, referees, Uki’s and of course Vicky from Mersea for putting on the refreshments.

The grading was split into 2-categories (1) Juniors from 10:30am to 1pm and Seniors/Dan grades from 1:30pm to 4pm.

Each category was then split into 3-sections:-

(1) Syllabus

(2) Contest

(3) Where applicable Kata

I am pleased to advise the grading went according to plan although the numbers and clubs attending was lower than usual but those that did attend has a good day as well as achieving the desired grade with some achieving more than they had assumed.
