Competition Committee Meeting Thursday 14th January 2010

In attendance: Darren Lyons, Shayne Thorn, Roy Stevens, Adam Cunningham, John Workman. (Chris Woods was unable to attend due to work).
This meeting took place to arrange a competition for March, It was agreed that we will hold it at the Eversley leisure Centre, Crest Avenue Basildon Essex SS13 2EF, It was agreed that the competition would be on Saturday the 20th March and for Shayne to book, but the hall had been booked for that day from when It was looked in to a week earlier, The next date was Saturday the 10th April so have booked that day.
This will be an open invitation event at a cost of £9 for A.E.J.F Members and £12 for non Members.
Darren has filled out the Red Cross form and waiting for a reply back from them to confirm the booking.
We decided that there should be a weighing in slip that the judoka will need to weigh in, This slip would have their name, age, club, Then the weight would be written on the slip and their names put onto the relevant weight category sheet, Judoka keep the slip to take to table when their category is called. 9am weigh in for a 10am start.

SENIORS (19-34 Years) (3 Minute Contest Period)

DAN GRADES (5 Minute Contest Period)
Two groups each for men and women to be matched on the day.
VETERANS (Over 35 Years) (3 Minute Contest Period)
Two groups each for men and women to be matched on the day.
THE A.E.J.F HAVE THE RIGHT TO AMALGAMATE ANY WEIGHT GROUPS ON THE DAY DUE TO LACK OF ENTRIES
All agreed that Shayne would sort out Trophies/Medals
There will be Gold, Silver and Two Bronze.
55 Groups in total agreed that we should get 60 sets of Trophies/Medals.
There will be a Newaza Competition in June, We will ask John Pegram The A.E.J.F Secretary to look into booking BlackWater leisure for this event.
Next competitions will be September and November 2010 dates and venues to be arranged.
We all agreed that there will be four competitions this year, Not the six that we agreed due to late forming of this committee. We will start organising late this year so we can get the six competitions in for 2011.
Next meeting will be 4th February 2010.
